Our web site was created by parish member Michael Shain in conjunction with the hardworking Web Site Subcommittee.  Special Thanks to Ray, Helen, Dawn and Kerry!

Mike was the Assistant Principal at St. John Fine Arts with our Catholic School District when the website was instituted. He taught science and technology related subjects and specialized in technology integration in the classroom.  Mike has since moved away from Calgary and is the school Principal in Vulcan, Alberta.  His leadership, knowledge and creativity have been invaluable to the parish in the creation of this website.   And, his generous spirit still allows us to call upon him when we need his many gifts.

Mike created and designed our web logo seen in the upper left hand corner.
The design is a circle to represent the wholeness of the Church, but, split into panes, as in a stained glass window, showing the many parts that make up the wholeness.  The image of St. Pius X shows our Patron, while the keys of St. Peter represent the Papacy of Pope Pius X.  The motto INSTAURARE OMNI IN CHRISTO and its English translation 'TO RESTORE ALL THINGS IN CHRIST' was the motto of St. Pius X.  These are shown both in Latin and English to represent the Traditional and the Modern Church.  The other two images faded in the background show the AMBO representing the Word of God, and, the teaching function of the Church, and the ALTAR, the site of the Eucharist, and, the centre of Church life.
