Habitat For Humanity

Habitat for Humanity is a Christian Housing ministry whose purpose is to eliminate poverty housing in the world. It began in 1976 and is currently in over 50 countries. Calgary Habitat has built more than 30 homes since 1991. St. Pius X Parish formed a work group to volunteer their services in helping to build houses for Habitat.

August 2006 - August 2007 Habitat for Humanity is building the Leo & Goldie Sheftel Court, a 12 unit townhouse complex at 1803-17 Avenue NW, in partnership with the community and with the families who will own them.

This location is in our parish! Our Manna Ministry is organizing Volunteers from St. Pius X parish to serve lunch to the workers at the jobsite.  Volunteers are still needed for some dates.  Please call Laurette (288-1256) if you would like to help.  Thank you

Volunteers to help with building (experienced and inexperienced) should call Calgary Habitat for Humanity Society at (403) 253-9331 ext 221 or check out their website at www.calgaryhabitat.com
